Who Should Attend: This course is designed for operators and maintainers of wastewater treatment & collection systems and water treatment & distribution systems.

Description: This class will present the fundamentals of applied hydraulics and is designed to give operator and maintainers an understanding of pumping system hydraulics. Topics include: flow, velocity, pressure, head & headloss, horsepower, force, system headlosses, and applied calculations. At the completion of this course attendees should be able to:

• Define water hammer & explain how water hammer occurs
• Define cavitation & explain conditions that cause cavitation
• Reference William & Hazen charts
• Calculate headloss through a system
• Define, water, brake & motor horsepower
• Define flow equation Q = A x V
• Calculate: Q, velocity, pressure, head, force & horsepower

Cancellation & No-Show Policy: A five days' notice in writing is required to cancel. Cancellations received after this time will be charged $50. Registrants who no-show will be billed the full course fee.
