Description: This course will present the O&M and troubleshooting of centrifugal pumps. The instructors will focus on bearings, seals, lubrication, alignment, and the most common problems associated with centrifugal pumps used in wastewater.

Topics include:

• Difference between centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
• Centrifugal theory- including brief curve analysis
• Brief discussion on NPSH
• Anatomy of the pump
• Bearing styles and troubleshooting failures
• Sealing styles and troubleshooting failures
• Coupling types and troubleshooting failure
• Baseplate selection, mounting, and grouting
• Common problems and their resolution
